Purpose of the study: to analyze the combination of the introduction of robotics and the subsequent introduction of other digital technologies of the fourth industrial revolution in the covid and post-covid period.

Research methodology: the empirical study was conducted by pseudorandomization method using survey data for the project "Competitiveness of Russian enterprises: reaction to the crisis and development factors", carried out in 2022. The compliance index was calculated using logistic regression modeling.

Results of the study: the effects of robotization on expensive technologies that slow down subsequent digitalization are found. It is concluded that when forming investment and digitalization budgets, it is necessary to initially focus on the comprehensive, rather than sequential introduction of digital technologies, otherwise the qualitative digital transformation may be delayed for several years or may not occur at all. The significance of financial support of the state for the digitalization of companies is established.

Originality and author's contribution: The first attempt to analyze the impact of robotization, a key aspect of industrial automation, on the further digitalization of the industrial sector of the Russian Federation was carried out.
