Формирование лексического минимума с помощью корпусных инструментов (на материале кейс-исследования по интегрированному курсу Tangible and Intangible Assets)
Abstract. The aim of this article is to familiarize the professional community with the results of a theoretical analysis and practical application of corpus methods in selecting the lexical minimum for a professional course taught at a university. The study highlights the didactically meaningful material and reflective experience in selecting vocabulary for a specialized English course taught within the framework of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approach. The paper provides a theoretical overview of approaches to compiling a lexical minimum using corpus linguistics methods, with the authors' created instructional corpus on a specific theme serving as the key source for frequency analysis of the vocabulary in the course. The research investigates the possibilities of automating vocabulary selection based on two corpora: a reference corpus (the British National Corpus) and a set of texts related to the discipline being studied, aiming to optimize and individualize the process. Word Smith 6.0 software, as well as our own software modules, are used to assess the linguostatistical indicators. The paper examines ways to minimize the list of selected units in creating the necessary discipline glossary. The content of the article covers a wide range of issues related to the theory and practice of vocabulary selection and is of interest to both language specialists and professionals developing professionally-oriented courses in English.
