The purpose of this article is to analyze and compare the concepts of “virtual” in the Russian and Chinese languages. The analysis showed that the interpretation of the concept of “virtual” in both cultures is wide, and suggests a number of similarities and differences, in particular: virtual as causing mistrust in the sphere of politics and economics in the Russian language and contributing to the formation of a negative attitude towards the political or economic situation; virtual as a feature of choreography, a special technique of symbolism and conventions in the performing arts of opera; virtual as a kind of non-blood relationship.
