‘Science Is Universal-It Knows No Borders
Fuad Aleskerov, Tenured Professor and Director of the International Centre of Decision Choice and Analysis at HSE University, together with his colleagues, has developed methods of network analysis in bibliometrics that have made it possible to identify patterns in the appearance and citation of publications in academic journals, as well as their influence on each other. When one or a number of studies are frequently cited by a wide range of journals, this is an indicator that the research is of high quality. By contrast, extensive cross-citation within a limited group of journals increases the likelihood of identifying a network of predatory publications.

Three Algorithms for Merging Hierarchical Navigable Small World Graphs
Ponomarenko A., / Series Computer Science "arxiv.org". 2025.
This paper addresses the challenge of merging hierarchical navigable small world (HNSW) graphs, a critical operation for distributed systems, incremental indexing, and database compaction. We propose three algorithms for this task: Naive Graph Merge (NGM), Intra Graph Traversal Merge (IGTM), and Cross Graph Traversal Merge (CGTM). These algorithms differ in their approach to vertex selection ...

Mikhaylets E. V., Razorenova A. М., Chernyshev V. L. et al., Scientific Reports 2026 Vol. 16 Article 23560
Meditation offers a naturalistic paradigm for studying introspection, yet the neural dynamics of advanced tantric practices remain largely unexplored. Buddhist Highest Yoga Tantra (BHYT) comprises a sequence of eight dissolution stages culminating in the “clear light” state. We recorded EEG during eyes-closed BHYT meditation performed in monasteries and hermitages (51 sessions from 36 male practitioners; ...

Three-dimensional magnetization textures as quaternionic functions
Metlov K., Andrei B. Bogatyrëv, Annalen der Physik 2026 Vol. 538 No. 6 Article e70234
Thanks to the recent progress in bulk full three-dimensional nanoscale magnetization distribution imaging, there is a growing interest to three-dimensional (3D) magnetization textures, promising new high information density spintronic applications. Compared to 1D domain walls or 2D magnetic vortices/skyrmions, they are a much harder challenge to represent, analyze and reason about. Here we build analytical representation for such ...

Nonlinear Neumann eigenvalues in outward cuspidal domains with weighted measure
Menovshchikov A., Ukhlov A., Rendiconti del Circolo Matematico di Palermo 2026 Vol. 75 Article 91
We consider the nonlinear Neumann eigenvalue problem in outward cuspidal domains with a weighted measure. Using composition operators on Sobolev spaces, we establish embeddings of Sobolev spaces into weighted Lebesgue spaces. These embeddings give the solvability of the Neumann spectral problem in this setting and provide estimates for the corresponding weighted Neumann eigenvalues. ...

On the (p,q)-Eigenvalues of the No-Flux p-Laplacian
Menovshchikov A., Journal of Mathematical Sciences 2026 Vol. 298 P. 608–618
We study the set of (p, q)-eigenvalues of the p-Laplace operator with no-flux boundary conditions. We show that this set is closed and that its smallest positive element (the first nontrivial eigenvalue) admits a variational characterization. Moreover, we establish lower bounds for this eigenvalue in cuspidal domains. ...

Whole-canopy net ecosystem exchange and water use efficiency in an intermittent-light environment -- dynamic approach
Kivalov S., Legacy Theses & Dissertations (2009 - 2024), 2024.
An observed 20-30% increase in forest net ecosystem exchange (NEE) on partly cloudy days is often attributed to there being more uniform canopy illumination by diffuse radiation when clouds are present. However, the sky on such days is typically populated by fair-weather cumulus clouds, bringing dynamically changing shadow-to-light conditions on the order of minutes to ...

A simplified approach to predicting thermal expansion anisotropy of solids from first principles: application to the orthorhombic phase of Mo2C
Dmitry Vasilyev, Gorev V., Ikhsanov R. et al., Journal of Materials Science 2026 No. 61 P. 25452–25470
The orthorhombic phase of 𝛼-Mo2 C is a key component in electrocatalytic applications, as Mo2C-based catalysts can exhibit catalytic performance comparable to or exceeding that of noble metals. Despite its technological relevance, theoretical understanding of the anisotropy in the thermal expansion and related thermoelastic properties of 𝛼-Mo2 C remains limited. In this work, first-principles calculations ...

Local Fault-Tolerant Routing in 3D Mesh NoCs using Single-Hop Rollback
Edward R. Rzaev, Aleksandr Y. Romanov, Andrey M. Sukhov, IEEE Access 2026 Vol. 14 P. 2169–3536
This work presents a hierarchy of strictly local fault-tolerant routing algorithms for 3D mesh networks-on-chip, culminating in an algorithm that combines a live-neighbor selection rule with a bounded single-hop rollback mechanism. The proposed algorithms operate exclusively on immediate neighbor information, maintain O(1) per hop complexity, and require no global topology knowledge, additional virtual channels, or ...

Emergence of champion solitons from two-solitary-wave interactions in the fourth-order generalized Korteweg–de Vries equation
Flamarion M., Pelinovsky E., Chaos, Solitons and Fractals 2026 Vol. 208 No. 3 Article 118271
Two-solitary-wave interactions are investigated within the fourth-order generalized Korteweg– de Vries equation. This equation is closely related to the classical Korteweg–de Vries equation but includes a quartic nonlinear term. We show that, although collisions between two solitary waves are not perfectly elastic, only a small amount of radiation is generated during the interaction. This allows a clear characterization of ...

Dynamics of ring solitons in an expanding cloud of a Bose-Einstein condensate
Kamchatnov A.M., Suleimanov B. I., Tsoy E. N., Physical Review E - Statistical, Nonlinear, and Soft Matter Physics 2025 Vol. 111 No. 6 Article 064203
In this paper, we derive equations for the dynamics of ring dark solitons in an expanding cloud of a twodimensional Bose-Einstein condensate. Assuming that the soliton’s width is much smaller than its radius, we obtain the Hamilton equations for its evolution. Then they are transformed into the Newton equation, which is more convenient for applications. The general ...

Theory of dispersive shock waves induced by the Raman effect in optical fibers
Shaykin D. V., A.M. Kamchatnov, Physical Review A: Atomic, Molecular, and Optical physics 2025 Vol. 112 No. 6 Article 063511
We develop the theory of dispersive shock waves in optical fibers for the case of long-distance propagation of optical pulses, when the small Raman effect stabilizes the profile of the shock. The Whitham modulation equations are  derived as the basis for the Gurevich-Pitaevskii approach to the analytical theory of such shocks. We show that the wave variables at ...

Supersonic flow past an obstacle in a quasi-two-dimensional Lee-Huang-Yang quantum fluid
dos Santos G., Calasans de Brito L. F., Gammal A. et al., Physical Review A: Atomic, Molecular, and Optical physics 2025 Vol. 112 No. 3 Article 033318
A supersonic flow past an obstacle can generate a rich variety of wave excitations. This paper investigates, both analytically and numerically, two types of excitations generated by the flow of a Lee-Huang-Yang quantum fluid past an obstacle: linear radiation and oblique dark solitons. We show that wave crests of linear radiation can be accurately described by the proper ...

Комплексное моделирование физических процессов бортовых инфокоммуникационных устройств
Kofanov Y. N., Sotnikova S.,
