Волостная администрация и местное самоуправление в современной китайской деревне: от традиций к революциям (конец XIX в. — конец 1970-х гг.).
The article opens a historical outline of the rural municipality (xiang) administration and local self-government in rural China and Taiwan. The provisions of the relevant legal acts of the Republic of China, People’s Republic of China and Taiwan (including the period of Japanese colonial rule) are the major premises for discussion. Traditions of the rural municipality self-government have made their way into shaping mechanisms of interaction between the local self-government and civil authorities in the PRC and Taiwan.
