Посткоммунистический проект в Восточной Европе: содержание, эволюция и причины исчерпания (Часть 1)
Th e outcomes of Post-Communist evolution in Eastern Europe started by the fall of Berlin wall and the collapse of USSR becomes the subject of very controversial debates 30 years aft er. Th e growing social disappointment, the rise of conservative populism and the backslide of democracy in many countries of this region makes this academic debate a part of a broad ideological and political struggle over the concept of future Europe and the place of Eastern Europe in globalizing world. At the core of this problematic stay the reappraisal of Post-Communist project — system of values, principles and norms of economic and political transformation in Eastern Europe as well as road-map used by elites for the reconstruction of political legitimacy and reform process promulgation. Th e author analyses three major aspects of the subject: the substance of the Post-Communist project as a theoretical construction; the evolution of its basic ideas at the passed time, and the results of its fulfi llment — positive and negative. Th e First part of the article concerns more general questions: the content of the defi nition of Post-communism in current debates; Post-communist Central and Eastern Europe as a global region in geopolitical perspective; contradictions of the transformation period; the so-called “transitions to democracy” and causes of their variety and diff erent outcomes.
