The article “The Language of Osip Mandel’shtam’s Armed with the Vision of Narrow Wasps” aims to describe how Osip Mandel’shtam uses literary language in the poem Vooryzhennyi zren’em uzkikh os... (1937) to create its specifi c semantics, which is both complex and extremely easy to understand. The authors demonstrate that complex metaphors in the poem arise from the transformation of idioms and common collocations. The analysis allows us to clarify the meaning-generating role of idiom-based metaphors as one of the main literary devices in Mandel’shtam’s poetry.
The article describes the current tendency and challenges of philological characteristics of French the French popular language. The types of French sleng are marked out, indicating the linguistic units with the national cultural specific and information of lingvo-socio-cultural features of speech and nonlanguage behavior. The article observes and describes the expressive tools of the French language. There is the description of a cultural component of the process of studying and learning French from the perspective of intercultural communication.
The poem “Мне выпало счастье быть русским поэтом…” (1981) was first published in the book Voices Beyond the Hills, where it concluded a mini-cycle of four octets: “Год рождения не выбирают…” (1978), “Я слышал то, что слышать мог…” (1981), “Да, мне повезло в этом мире…” (1982), and “Мне выпало счастье быть русским поэтом…” (Самойлов 1985: 69-71); cf. (Самойлов 2006: 256, 305, 311, 301). Although Samoilov did not give an overall title to these texts as a group, they undoubtedly form a conceptual unity. In addition to the texts’ common themes (a summarization of life events), confessional tones, and equal lengths (the octet is the most common form in Voices Beyond the Hills: 36 out of 131 poems, about 27.5%), their graphical treatment is of note.
