The article discusses the history of the origin, formation and the current state of applied psychology in Russia. The authors show the relationship issues of social research and inquiries. The problems of mo$ dern applied psychology is considered by the example of one of its directions — work psychology, orga$ nizational psychology and ergonomics. Obtained typical characteristics of applied psychology, denotes its fundamental role in the development of General Psychology, the leading branches of psychology, marked its prospects.
