The article considers the possibility of applying the theory of generations in the process of formation the HR-strategy. The prerequisites of differentiation the approaches to the management of personnel from point of view theory of different generations are studied. The necessity of taking into account the age of the staff depends on the values of groups of workers is highlighted. Review has been given to scientific publications devoted to the study of differences in the values of generations. Results of PwC survey the members of «Generation Y» are studied. Attitudes towards working with the representatives of «Generation Y» that must be considered when determining the strategic directions of work with personnel are selected. Current age plan and sex characteristics of the personnel of JSC «Sberbank of Russia» are given. Actual directions of improvement the personnel management system of the Bank is highlighted. The directions of transformation the personnel management system in the organization, taking into account the increase in the share of workers «Generations X and Y» are described.
