Optimization for a three-stage production system in the Internet of Things: procurement, production and product recovery, and acquisition
Recovery of the end-of-use products has become a topic of considerable interest in the advanced manufacturing industry due in part to uncertainties in the quality and volume of product returns. The Internet of Things (IoT) that enables the tracing, detecting, storing, and analyzing the product life cycle data for each individual item can mitigate or eliminate these uncertainties. In this paper, an integrated three-stage model is presented based on IoT technology for the optimization of procurement, production and product recovery, pricing and strategy of return acquisition. The remaining value is used to measure the return condition. The model considers three recovery options related to refurbishing, component reuse and disposal, and the value deterioration for satisfying the product demand in each stage of product life cycle (PLC). A novel particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm based on two heuristic methods is proposed to solve the problem. A numerical example and sensitivity analysis are used to illustrate the performance of both algorithm and applicability of the model.

This book constitutes the joint refereed proceedings of the 15th International Conference on Next Generation Wired/Wireless Advanced Networks and Systems, NEW2AN 2015, and the 8th Conference on Internet of Things and Smart Spaces, ruSMART 2015, held in St. Petersburg, Russia, in August 2015. The 74 revised full papers were carefully reviewed and selected from numerous submissions. The 15 papers selected for ruSMART are organized in topical sections on IoT infrastructure, IoT platforms, smart spaces and IoT cases, and smart services and solutions. The 59 papers from NEW2AN deal with the following topics: streaming, video, and TCP applications, mobile "ad hoc" networks, security, and clouds, sensor networks and IoT, cellular systems, novel systems and techniques, business and services, signals and circuits, optical and satellite systems, and advanced materials and their properties.
The problem of management is formalized for the first time by purchases as a problem of a choice of the best decision at many criteria. Thus some of private criteria allow to consider demanded risk factors. Possibilities of the decision of problems of this kind on the basis of a method of a tree of decisions are illustrated.
One of the main goal of any industrial company is making profit by producing high quality and competitive products. Mostly, the production of meat industry enterprises are not a complete cycle, companies are divided into farms which are specialized in cultivation of livestock and poultry, slaughters and meet processing plants. The latters are the final link in the chain of supply of animal origin raw materials. For these companies it is important to establish a procurement process so that to have a sufficient number of fresh high-quality resources for production and to minimize losses releated with forced sales, often with a discount, the damage of excessive amount of purchased raw materials and also avoid unnecessary costs associated with their storage. This problem will be discussed in this article.
This proceedings publication is a compilation of selected contributions from the “Third International Conference on the Dynamics of Information Systems” which took place at the University of Florida, Gainesville, February 16–18, 2011. In this study, for the first time in Russian practice from a large amount of empirical data on state contracts for procurement of goods, works and services, made a major budgetary organization during 2008-2010., Examines factors affecting the decline in trading, delays in supplies, as well as problems in the performance of obligations under the contracts. The analysis showed that a reduction prices at the auctions directly dependent on the number of applications accepted for review by the competitive commissions. Falling prices are more frequent in the procurement of goods and experimental trust (compared to the benefits of the inspection), as well as a state contract for works. However, the prices are much less likely to have been lowered in auctions (compared to purchasing through quotations and tenders). Delays in supplies occurred in 27% of patients and were more frequent in the procurement of experimental benefits, and were characterized for major purchases and state contracts executed during the I-III quarters of the year. More serious problems in the performance of obligations, full fraught with supply disruptions, have characterized the state contracts, culminating in the IV quarter. The overall risk supply disruptions were reported only 5% of purchases at competitive procedures, but on the contracts accounted for nearly half of all purchases of the budget organization in 2008-2010. Based on the analysis in the formulation of recommendations to improve the system of public procurement.

Tools and methods for modeling and simulation are widely used in enterprise engineering, organizational studies, and business process management. In monitoring and evaluating business processes and the interactions of actors in a realistic environment, modeling and simulation have proven to be both powerful, efficient, and economic, especially if complemented by animation and gaming elements.
The ten contributions in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 22 submissions. They explore the above topics, address the underlying challenges, find and improve solutions, and show the application of modeling and simulation in the domains of enterprises, their organizations and underlying business processes.
In this article we describe a system allowing companies to organize an efficient inventory management with 40 suppliers of different products. The system consists of four modules, each of which can be improved: demand planning, inventory management, procurement planning and KPI reporting. Described system was implemented in a real company, specializing on perishable products totaling over 600 SKUs. The system helped the company to increase its turnover by 7% while keeping the same level of services.
A form for an unbiased estimate of the coefficient of determination of a linear regression model is obtained. It is calculated by using a sample from a multivariate normal distribution. This estimate is proposed as an alternative criterion for a choice of regression factors.
