О коммуникативной обусловленности предикативного согласования с именными группами со значением неопределенного количества
The paper is focused on the influence of Theme-Rheme-structure on predicate agreement with quantifier phrases which contain a mention of an indefinite quantity. The author considers the dependence of the predicate choice on theme or rheme position of the quantifier phrase and reveals that the possibility of implementing different Theme-Rheme structures and its influence on predicate choice are unequal in the sentences with different quantifiers. The communicative conditions for singular or plural predicate agreement with quantifier phrases which contain neskolko, mnogo, nemalo, are described. The author concludes that singular predicate corresponds to the focus on the quantifier phrase (rhematic position or thematic position in contrast), the plural choice is conditioned by the focus on the other part of the sentence. Some specific communicative strategies such as superposition of rheme are considered.
The paper deals with the development of predicate agreement with the quantifier phrase, containing "neskolko", during 18-21 centuries. Analyzing the data of the National Russian lcorpus and the results of statistic research of the 60-70s, as well as debating with the conception proposed by the author's team included M. Krasovitsky, G.Corbett and others, the author offers an explanation for the inconsistency fluctuations of the predicate in a number observed in expressions with "neskolko". Given the influence of speech sphere on a predicate number choice, the author concludes that the expressions, including "neskolko" demonstrates a clear trend to the choice of a plural predicate agreement.
The textbook aims to describe the way the system of linguistic education was formed in the Russian grammar studies of the 1820-1850s. Their authors' approaches to theoretical and practical issues of learning Russian are extended with the analysis of their contemporaries' reviews of the grammar textbooks. Tables, diagrams, follow-up questions, literature lists as well as tasks for the analysis of scientific and linguistic texts will allow readers to process the information in a more productive way. The addenda provide the basic information about the biography and studies of the prominent modern linguists and philosophers as well as Russian philologists of the XVIII-XX centuries mentioned in the book.
The textbook is intended to be used in the course on the history of Russian linguistics or alike.
The article deals with the problem of the predicate number choice in the quantifier expressions with the definite quantifier meaning. On the base of the data for the last decade (2000-2010) from the National Russian Corpus the main factors that influence the predicate agreement are discovered. The special attention is paid to the conditions that cause the singular predicate.
The work deals with the strategies for predicate agreement to quantified noun groups headed by nouns. In Russian, as in other Slavic languages, predicate agreement with quantified noun phrases allows singular or plural forms of the predicate. As for the sentences with quantifiers-nouns r’ad, polovina, chast’, mnozestvo, three agreement strategy are probable: predicate agrees with the head of noun phrase and takes singular masculine/feminine/neuter or agrees semantically, in plural, or takes default form – singular neuter. The last type of agreement is rare and non-standard. The most frequent is the first type, full grammatical agreement.
The study based on the National Russian Corpus showed that the strategies of predicate agreement with quantifiers-nouns are not identical. The predicate more probable agrees in plural with NP, headed by the word r’ad, than the words polovina, chast’, mnozestvo.
The reasons for the differences in strategies of predicate agreement and the factors of context that influence the choice of predicate, are analysed in the paper.
The investigation of the difference in the agreement strategy implies consideration of the semantic and grammatical properties of quantifiers.
It is shown that some quantifiers have indefinite and abstract meaning (r’ad, mnozestvo), their grammatical properties are limited (the ability to combine with a definition, to be used without dependent word). This behavior differs from usual noun behavior. The “not noun-like” properties should be the main reason for fluctuations in the choice of the form of the predicate, as Corbett has shown [Corbett 1979, Krasovitsky 2010]. The quantifiers of more specific and substantive meaning (polovina, chast’) that behave like nouns, seems to require the full grammatical agreement of predicate.
The dependence of the choice of the predicate form from grammatical gender is discussed in the paper.
The statistical analysis of the influence of the context factors is carried out. The factors of animacy, word order, conjunct subjects. conjunct predicate, the type of predicate, adjectives agreed with quantifier are considered. Some views on the influence of the factors of the context generally accepted in Russian linguistics are refined. The study has shown that a few factors can influence on the choice of the form of the predicate agreed with the words pololvina or chast’– predominantly conjunct noun phrases and animacy. The agreement with mnozestvo is influenced by more factors of context. All the factors are extremely important for the predicate agreement with r’ad
The book presents the proceedings of the International scientific Symposium "the Russian grammar: active processes in language and speech" (Yaroslavl, 17-19 may 2019), which took place in Yaroslavl state pedagogical University in partnership with MAPRYAL, ropryal, the V. V. Vinogradov's Russian language Institute and A. S. Pushkin's Institute of Russian language.

In this paper, I cover the problem of the topic and focus revealing in the sentences of Hittite and Ancient Greek, two of the earliest Indo-European languages attested in writing. Information structure revealing gives us clues not only to the placement of accent (which is highly relevant for Hittite phonology) but also to the reconstruction of Indo-European syntax. Current methods of information structure analysis in dead languages remain insufficiently developed, with seemingly arbitrary procedures of focus revealing that lack proper argumentation. The paper suggests using a complex approach, subsequently applying several methods that have been tested on living languages, but so far have not yielded positive results on data from extinct languages on their own: namely, the method of Focus Skeleton (identification of a row of focus alternatives together with topic analysis), and the method of Question under Discussion, both of them applied in combination with contextual and philological analysis.
The volume is the third issue of a corpora-based grammar of Russian. The volume deals with the issues of parts of speech and, more generally, with formal classes of lexicon, It comprises descriptive papers of separate POS and lesser world classes.
This study considers predicate agreement with quantifier phrases that include the words neskolko, stolko, skolko, mnogo, nemalo. We analyze the evolution of predicate agreement with neskolko, stolko, skolko, nemalo and mnogo and describe the modern standard of usage based on the data from the Russian National Corpus. The influence of grammatical properties of the numeral on the predicate choice as well as certain factors that favor the non-typical plural predicate (such as predicate type, animacy of the NP, syntactic structure of the NP) are also considered.
The paper is focused on the study of reaction of italian literature critics on the publication of the Boris Pasternak's novel "Doctor Jivago". The analysys of the book ""Doctor Jivago", Pasternak, 1958, Italy" (published in Russian language in "Reka vremen", 2012, in Moscow) is given. The papers of italian writers, critics and historians of literature, who reacted immediately upon the publication of the novel (A. Moravia, I. Calvino, F.Fortini, C. Cassola, C. Salinari ecc.) are studied and analised.
In the article the patterns of the realization of emotional utterances in dialogic and monologic speech are described. The author pays special attention to the characteristic features of the speech of a speaker feeling psychic tension and to the compositional-pragmatic peculiarities of dialogic and monologic text.
