“Время идет через меня”: субъективность хронотопа в романе Л.Н. Толстого “Семейное счастие”
This article examines the chronotope of Leo Tolstoy's novel Family Happiness through the prism of the interaction between three narrative entities—the heroine, the narrator, and the author. The subjective perception of time and its connection to the space of the novel's artistic world shape the compositional and semantic structure of the work. It is shown that the heroine's experience of time depends on her emotional state and locus (city or village), while the author's narrative demonstrates the independence of time from changes in space. It can be concluded that even in Tolstoy's early work, principles of understanding the categories of time and space are evident that would later be developed in his philosophical treatises and later works of fiction.
