Immunity to Chaos: How Personal Resources Help Us Cope with the Challenges of a Turbulent World
International conflicts, crises and digital overload—the modern world puts our minds to the test every day. Traditional psychology often focuses on the consequences: anxiety, depression, and psychosomatic disorders. But what if we looked at the problem differently—through the lens of the resources that prevent us from breaking down? Psychological immunity is precisely this set of resources. Alena Zolotareva and her group, Psychological Immunity as a Resource for Positive Functioning, are developing an integrative model of this phenomenon, adapting diagnostic tools and preparing for large-scale empirical research. Why do psychologists need to collaborate with medical professionals, and how could their research transform preventive care in clinics and corporations?

‘Balkan Hospitality Opens Doors: Studying Dialects on the Verge of Extinction
You cannot study spoken dialects from books. Instead, you need to go to a village, seek out its elders, and earn the trust of local residents before you can record hours of spontaneous stories. This is how Natalia Muravleva, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Humanities, conducts her research. Her internship in Serbia continued her long-standing study of dialects spoken by Macedonian settlers. In this interview, she discusses how diaspora cultural centres help researchers reach informants, why native speakers need to be interviewed only in their own language (otherwise, as she puts it, they may 'break'), and how a single field season helped her finalise her monograph. She also shares warm memories of autumn in Belgrade and of colleagues with whom grammar can be discussed in three languages at once.

Dynamical analysis of a delayed food chain model with additive Allee effect

Advances in Continuous and Discrete Models. 2021. Vol. 2021. Article 54.
Seralan V., R S., K S., Grienggrai R., P H., R V., Nallappan G.

Dynamical analysis of a delayed tri-trophic food chain consisting of prey, an intermediate, and a top predator is investigated in this paper. The additive Allee effect is introduced in the prey population, and it is assumed that there is a time lag due to the gestation effect in the intermediate predator. The interference among the prey and the intermediate predator is according to Holling type II, while the interaction between the intermediate and top predators follows the Crowley–Martin functional response. The local stability and bifurcation analysis of the proposed model at the interior equilibrium point are studied. Numerical simulations are provided to ensure the mathematical results.

Some Aspects of Remote State Restoring in State Transfer Governed by XXZ-Hamiltonian
Bochkin G., Doronin S., Fel’dman E. et al., Lobachevskii Journal of Mathematics 2024 Vol. 45 No. 3 P. 1188–1207
We consider the remote state restoring and perfect transfer of the zero-order coherence matrix (PTZ) in a spin system governed by the XXZ-Hamiltonian conserving the excitation number. The restoring tool is represented by several nonzero Larmor frequencies in the Hamiltonian. To simplify the analysis we use two approximating models including either step-wise or pulse-type time-dependence ...

Coherence restoring in communication line via controlled interaction with environment
Fel’dman E. B., Лазарев И. Д., Pechen A. N. et al., Quantum Information Processing 2026 Vol. 25 Article 121
We consider the state-restoring protocol based on the controlled interaction of a linear chain with environment through incoherent control by the specially adjusted step-wise time-dependent Lindblad operators. We show that the best restoring result (maximal scale factors in the restored state) corresponds to the symmetrical Lindblad equation. (0, 1)-excitation dynamics is considered numerically, and restoring ...

Macroscopic entanglement distribution with atomic ensembles
Li S., Hu J., Лазарев И. Д. et al., Annals of Physics 2026 Vol. 494 Article 170618
The distribution of entanglement is a crucial task for quantum communication towards realizing a globe-spanning quantum internet. Recently, a protocol for deterministic long-distance distribution of macroscopic entanglement over a network of ensembles of qubits was introduced (Pyrkov et al., 2025). It was shown that this protocol allows for the propagation of macroscopic amounts of entanglement ...

Quantum Repeater Protocol for Deterministic Distribution of Macroscopic Entanglement, Advanced Quantum Technologies
Pyrkov A., Лазарев И. Д., Byrnes T., Advanced Quantum Technologies 2025 Article 2400524
Distributing long-distance entanglement is a fundamental goal that is necessary for a variety of tasks such as quantum communication, distributed quantum computing, and quantum metrology. Currently quantum repeater schemes typically aim to distribute one ebit at a time, the equivalent of one Bell pair's worth of entanglement. Here, a scheme is presented to distribute a ...

Hybrid quantum-classical unsupervised data clustering based on the self-organizing feature map
I. D. Lazarev, Narozniak M., Byrnes T. et al., Physical Review A: Atomic, Molecular, and Optical physics 2025 Vol. 111 No. 012416 Article 012416
Unsupervised machine learning is one of the main techniques employed in artificial intelligence. We introduce an algorithm for quantum-assisted unsupervised data clustering using the self-organizing feature map, a type of artificial neural network. The complexity of our algorithm scales as 𝑂⁡(𝐿⁢𝑁), in comparison to the classical case which scales as 𝑂⁡(𝐿⁢𝑀⁢𝑁), where 𝑁 is the ...

Darboux formulae for linear hyperbolic equations in the discrete case
Смирнов С. В., Glasgow Mathematical Journal 2026 Vol. 68 No. 2 P. 299–316
In the second half of the 19th century Darboux obtained determinant formulae that provide the general solution for a linear hyperbolic second order PDE with finite Laplace series. These formulae played an important role in his study of the theory of surfaces and, in particular, in the theory of conjugate nets. During the last three ...

Integral preserving discretization of 2D Toda lattices
Смирнов С. В., Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical 2023 Vol. 56 No. 26 Article 265204
There are different methods of discretizing integrable systems. We consider semi-discrete analog of two-dimensional Toda lattices associated to the Cartan matrices of simple Lie algebras that was proposed by Habibullin in 2011. This discretization is based on the notion of Darboux integrability. Generalized Toda lattices are known to be Darboux integrable in the continuous case ...

On phase-lock area parquet in a special slow-fast limit of model of Josephson junction.
Glutsyuk A., / Series arXiv "math". 2026.
B.Josephson (Nobel Prize, 1973) predicted a tunnelling effect for a system of two superconductors separated by a narrow dielectric (such a system is called Josephson junction): existence of a supercurrent through it and equations governing it. The overdamped Josephson junction is modeled by the family of differential equations on the 2-torus, dθdτ=1ω(cosθ+B+Acosτ), which is known as ...

On exotic rationally integrable dual billiards I. Complex geometry and type of dynamics.
Glutsyuk A., / Series arXiv "math". 2026.
A planar dual billiard is a planar curve γ equipped with a family (σP)|P∈γ of projective involutions of the projective lines LP tangent to γ at P that fix P. A dual billiard is called rationally integrable, if there exists a rational function R(x,y) of two variables (called first integral) whose restriction to each tangent ...

Dynamical systems on torus related to general Heun equations: phase-lock areas and constriction breaking
Alexandrov A., Glutsyuk A., Journal of Differential Equations 2026 Vol. 465 Article 114178
The overdamped Josephson junction in superconductivity theory can be modeled by the family of dynamical systems on the torus, which is known as the RSJ model. This family admits an equivalent description by a family of second-order differential equations: special double confluent Heun equations. In the present paper, we construct two new families of dynamical systems on ...

On rationally integrable planar dual and projective billiards
Glutsyuk A., Inventiones Mathematicae 2026 Vol. 245 P. 977–1058
A caustic of a strictly convex planar bounded billiard is a smooth curve whose tangent lines are reflected from the billiard boundary to its tangent lines. The famous Birkhoff Conjecture, studied by many mathematicians, states that if the billiard boundary has an inner neighborhood foliated by closed caustics, then it is an ellipse. In the paper we study ...

Stable On-the-Fly Learning for Dynamic Neural Networks With Delayed Inputs
Chertopolokhov V., Mukhamedov A., Bugriy G. et al., IEEE Access 2026 Vol. 14 P. 14369–14392
This study presents on-the-fly identification and multi-step prediction of nonlinear systems with delayed inputs using a dynamic neural network combined with a smooth projection onto ellipsoids. The projection enforces parameter constraints that guarantee stability, while a Lyapunov–Krasovskii analysis yields computable ultimate error bounds. Riccati-type matrix inequalities are derived, providing an efficient vectorization–projection–devectorization implementation suitable for ...

Dynamic Interactions in Intraguild Predation: A Ratio-Dependent Model with Time Delay and Prey Refuge
S M., Seralan V., R V. et al., Journal of Applied Nonlinear Dynamics 2025 Vol. 14 No. 3 P. 719–743
In this work, we propose a ratio-dependent intraguild predation model that incorporates fear and gestation delay. Further, the cost of the intraguild predator's fear is thought to decrease the size of the intraguild prey. The interaction between prey and predator takes place in the form ratio-dependence type. This type of functional response offers a valuable ...
