The site of the mass murder of Mountain Jews by the Nazis in the village of Bogdanovka, Stavropol Krai, is a place where several “memories” converge, supported by different players in the field of Politics of Memory. These memories include the Holocaust, specifically the fate of Mountain Jews, as well as the Holocaust more generally, and the post-Soviet discourse about the killing of “civilians”, which includes the residents of the entire village. The author explores several aspects of the Jewish history in Bogdanovka: different interpretations of the memorial, the current state of the memorial site, and unsuccessful attempts to return the property of the Jewish families of Bogdanovka. The article con-cludes that the Bogdanovka memorial is relevant to a relatively small number of people... The commemoration of Mountain Jews on May 9 is now a historical tradition of this sub-ethnic group, through which members of the Mountain Jewish community can understand the Holocaust in relation to their own histo-ry. At the same time, the theme of the Holocaust is not emphasized as a separate historical event in Bogdanovka
