История издания и особенности текста второй редакции 1827 г. «Пространного христианского катихизиса» святителя Филарета (Дроздова)
The paper examines in detail the history of the Second edition (1827) of the Longer Catechism of St. Philaret (Drozdov) in the context of the changing ec- clesiastical and secular political situation of the time. In particular, the policy of Admiral A. S. Shishkov, who replaced Prince A. N. Golytsin as Minister of Popular Enlightenment in 1824, with regard to St. Philaret's Catechism is investigated. The authors of this paper also analyze amendments made to the text of the Catechism in 1827 taking into account manuscript RSL. F. 173.I, No 119 (in the collection of the Library of the Trinity St. Sergius Lavra). The study is based on the critical edition of the Catechism published by the authors in the almanac Bogoslovskie Trudy (issue 50 [2021]). Finally, examples of annotations of the Catechism by the priest John Zhilov at the beginning of the 20th century are reviewed, as evidence of the continuing relevance of St. Philaret’s original intention in his first edition of 1823.
