The monograph presents a study of the platforms and practices of science
diplomacy development in the Arctic in recent decades. Theoretical approaches
to the interpretation of science diplomacy, as well as global, international, regional
and national platforms and processes of international scientific cooperation
and science diplomacy in the Arctic in retrospect are considered, and a brief analysis
of the transformation of cooperation in the current period of geopolitical changes
is given. The practical experiences of science diplomacy in the Arctic are
summarized. The publication gives vivid examples of the development of Arctic
science diplomacy in the Russian Federation and in Arctic and non-Arctic
countries. It discusses the directions of further development of Arctic science
diplomacy in scientific-theoretical and practical aspects in order to continue
the international dialogue and achieve a balance of interests for the benefit of such
an important region for the whole planet as the Arctic.
The work is addressed to researchers, state and municipal employees, teachers,
graduate and undergraduate students, specialists who study science diplomacy, as
well as to all readers interested in international scientific cooperation and science
diplomacy in the Arctic.
