The article is devoted to the memories of Mikhail Ivanovich Kukushkin, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of the Russian Federation, winner of many state awards - scientist, teacher, rector, person. In the most difficult years of political and economic reforms in Russia, Mikhail Ivanovich headed the Sverdlovsk Law Institute - the Ural State Law Academy, one of the largest law schools in the country, for 15 years (1986-2001).
