When universal machine learning models fail in capacitance prediction for carbon-based supercapacitors: Leakage-aware validation and electrolyte screening
Makarov D. M., Kalikin N., Fashchevsky K. A. et al., Electrochimica Acta 2026 Vol. 579 Article 150159
Machine learning (ML) has become a powerful tool for accelerating the development of carbon-based supercapacitors; however, most published models assume that a single predictive framework can describe both conventional porous carbons and hybrid carbon electrodes. Here, we test this assumption using a comprehensive benchmark dataset and an extended literature-curated dataset enriched with synthesis- and electrolyte-related descriptors. Three ML algorithms ...

Advances in colloidal anisotropic nanocrystals for high-efficiency light-emitting diodes
Zhukov A., Chen F., Zeng Y. et al., Nanoscale 2026 Vol. 18 No. 36 P. 19223–19253
Colloidal semiconductor nanocrystals have emerged as promising materials for next-generation light-emitting diodes (LEDs) owing to their solution processability, tunable emission wavelengths, narrow emission linewidths, and high photoluminescence quantum yields. Among them, anisotropic nanocrystals, including one-dimensional nanorods (NRs) and two-dimensional nanoplatelets (NPLs), offer additional opportunities for controlling transition dipole moment orientation and light out-coupling efficiency. These ...

Planar chiral arene ruthenium complexes derived from R-carvone
Mikhail A. Boym, Pototskiy R., Evgeniya S. Podyacheva et al., Dalton Transactions 2025 Vol. 54 No. 14 P. 5655–5658
Natural R-carvone was converted into chiral 1-aryl-2-methyl-5-isopropyl-cyclohexadienes using a cross-coupling reaction as a key step. These dienes react with RuCl3 to give planar-chiral complexes [(arene)RuCl2]2 in 70–75% yields. Complex [(1-Ph-2-Me-5-iPr-C6H3)RuCl2]2, a chiral analogue of the classical catalyst [(cymene)RuCl2]2, promotes C–H activation of N-methoxy-benzamide and intramolecular insertion of a diazo compound into a C–H bond, but gives products with low ...

Степанова Е. В., Штиль А. А., Лавренов С. Н. et al., Russian Chemical Bulletin, Россия 2010 № 12 С. 2203–2211
Tris(1-alkylindol-3-yl)methanes were obtained and oxidized into tris(1-alkylindol-3-yl)methylium salts. The resulting salts are more toxic to cultured tumor cells than to non-tumor ones. The cytotoxicity of tris(1-alkylindol-3-yl)methylium salts depends on the length of the substituent at the N atom of the heterocycle, increasing from an N-unsubstituted derivative toward N-butyl- and N-pentyl derivatives. A further increase in ...
