An Egyptian Royal Sculpture of the Ptolemaic Time in the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, Moscow (Inv. I, 1a 4979)
Antiguo Oriente. 2022. Vol. 20. P. 119–130.
Ladynin I. A.
The article proposes an attribution for the royal sculpture head preserved in the Egyptian collection of the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, Moscow (Inv. I, 1a 4979). The object obviously represents the iconographic standard of royal sculpture, which was in use in Egypt throughout the 3rd and the 4th centuries B.C. The sculpture head is attributed to Ptolemy II on the grounds of analogies with the statue Museo Gregoriano Egizio 22681 and the sculpture heads Turin 1399 and Walters Art Museum 22109, as well as some features of his Hellenic images.
