The monograph continues the series of publications devoted to the economic theory of the state: "Prerequisites of Economic Theory: Critical Analysis" (2017); "The Economic Theory of the State: A New Paradigm of Paternalism" (2020). The first part of the new book presents a special theory of the humanitarian sector of the economy, which is based on the concept of the knowledge economy and the rationale for its application to scientific, educational, cultural and medical activities. It is shown that their unifying feature is the creative nature of labor and intellectual activity, which promote the growth of human capital and provide production, reproduction, distribution, and preservation of knowledge. The second part of this book is devoted to the analysis of accumulated knowledge in the economics of the humanitarian sector, where, where main results of research and modern practices in science, education, culture and medicine are represented the context of the general theoretical approach.
