Аспекты развития печатного дела в немецких землях в раннее Новое время
The article overviews the development of the press in the confessional era in its various aspects: technical, informational, and social. The idea of the decisive role of the printed word in the period of the Reformation, its “revolutionary nature” and the transformation of the public sphere under the influence of the book was voiced as early as the middle of the 20th century in the works of structuralits, but was sharply criticized by medievalists. Modern ideas about the role of printing come down to the functioning of a new technical component within the public sphere of the Middle Ages, along with the highest importance of the spoken word and handwritten communication (primarily correspondence, but also the handwritten book). In line with the approach formulated by German historians, in this publication the authors reflect the main aspects of the development of printing in the 15-17th centuries.
