Right after the birth of his son, V. I. Vernadsky designed a program of his development observations. The observation diaries themselves were kept by his wife, Georgy’s mother, Natalia. In introductory notes, Vladimir Vernadsky pays special attention to the importance of making observations considering the observer’s condition in order to increase the value of records for science. In fact, V. I. Vernadsky lays down a scientific approach to monitoring the early development of a child as a source of objective psychological knowledge.
