Роль факторов ESG в формировании оценки компании в развитых и развивающихся странах
Annotation. The impact of the global trend towards environmental protection, social human rights and support for strong corporate governance has been particularly noticeable in recent years. The present study focuses on assessing the differences in environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors affecting company value. Both the aggregate ESG rating and each factor (E, S, G) in developed and developing countries were taken as the main factors. It is found that the effect of ESG rating on Tobin factor, differs in developed and developing countries. Based on observations of 4,207 companies from 35 countries over the period 2016-2021, 153 it is found that ESG ratings have a positive effect on company value in developed countries and the said effects are robust. It is also shown that for the same groups of firms, a G-rating is important, but for firms located in developing countries, an Erating is sufficient in the short run.
