HSE Researchers Compile Scientific Database for Studying Childrens Eating Habits
The database created at HSE University can serve as a foundation for studying children’s eating habits. This is outlined in the study ‘The Influence of Age, Gender, and Social-Role Factors on Children’s Compliance with Age-Based Nutritional Norms: An Experimental Study Using the Dish-I-Wish Web Application.’ The work has been carried out as part of the HSE Basic Research Programme and was presented at the XXVI April International Academic Conference named after Evgeny Yasin.

New Foresight Centre Study Identifies the Most Destructive Global Trends for Humankind
A team of researchers from the HSE International Research and Educational Foresight Centre has examined how global trends affect the quality of human life—from life expectancy to professional fulfilment. The findings of the study titled ‘Human Capital Transformation under the Influence of Global Trends’ were published in Foresight.

Scientists Develop Algorithm for Accurate Financial Time Series Forecasting
Researchers at the HSE Faculty of Computer Science benchmarked more than 200,000 model configurations for predicting financial asset prices and realised volatility, showing that performance can be improved by filtering out noise at specific frequencies in advance. This technique increased accuracy in 65% of cases. The authors also developed their own algorithm, which achieves accuracy comparable to that of the best models while requiring less computational power. The study has been published in Applied Soft Computing.

Shurakov A., Razakova A., Lvov A. et al., IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters 2025 Vol. 24 No. 1 P. 88–92
The quality of wireless connections in the sixth-generation (6G) communication networks is tightly linked to the capabilities of smart antenna environments. They should enable effective routing of ultra-narrow radio beams, intrinsic to D-band channels, and make use of so-called reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs). Practical RISs are seriously judged by their cost and operation efficiencies. In ...

The importance of tree internal water storage under drought conditions
Preisler Y., Hölttä T., Grünzweig J. et al., Tree Physiology 2022 Vol. 42 No. 4 P. 771–783
Global warming and drying trends, as well as the increase in frequency and intensity of droughts, may have unprecedented impacts on various forest ecosystems. We assessed the role of internal water storage (WS) in drought resistance of mature pine trees in the semi-arid Yatir Forest. Transpiration (T), soil moisture and sap flow (SF) were measured ...

In a recent paper, given an arbitrary homogeneous cohomological field theory (CohFT), Rossi, Shadrin, and the first author proposed a simple formula for a bracket on the space of local functionals, which conjecturally gives a second Hamiltonian structure for the double ramification hierarchy associated to the CohFT. In this paper we prove this conjecture in ...

Flat F-Manifolds, F-CohFTs, and Integrable Hierarchies
Arsie A., Buryak A., Lorenzoni P. et al., Communications in Mathematical Physics 2021 Vol. 388 P. 291–328
We define the double ramification hierarchy associated to an F-cohomological field theory and use this construction to prove that the principal hierarchy of any semisimple (homogeneous) flat F-manifold possesses a (homogeneous) integrable dispersive deformation at all orders in the dispersion parameter. The proof is based on the reconstruction of an F-CohFT starting from a semisimple ...

Towards a bihamiltonian structure for the double ramification hierarchy
Buryak A., Rossi P., Shadrin S., Letters in Mathematical Physics 2021 Vol. 111 Article 13
We propose a remarkably simple and explicit conjectural formula for a bihamiltonian structure of the double ramification hierarchy corresponding to an arbitrary homogeneous cohomological field theory. Various checks are presented to support the conjecture. ...

This handbook presents a set of calculated analytical formulas for determining the basic electrophysical parameters of electronic equipment: electrical capacity, inductance and wave impedance. These parameters play an essential role in ensuring the signal integrity and power integrity of electronic equipment and its electromagnetic compatibility. It is especially important to have design ratios when designing ...

Quadratic double ramification integrals and the noncommutative KdV hierarchy
Buryak A., Rossi P., Bulletin of the London Mathematical Society 2021 Vol. 53 No. 3 P. 843–854
In this paper we compute the intersection number of two double ramification (DR) cycles (with different ramification profiles) and the top Chern class of the Hodge bundle on the moduli space of stable curves of any genus. These quadratic DR integrals are the main ingredients for the computation of the DR hierarchy associated to the ...

Open topological recursion relations in genus 1 and integrable systems
Brauer Gomez O., Buryak A., Journal of High Energy Physics 2021 Vol. 2021 P. 1–15
The paper is devoted to the open topological recursion relations in genus 1, which are partial differential equations that conjecturally control open Gromov-Witten invariants in genus 1. We find an explicit formula for any solution analogous to the Dijkgraaf-Witten formula for a descendent Gromov-Witten potential in genus 1. We then prove that at the approximation ...

Feynman type formulas for Feller semigroups in Riemannian manifolds
Mazzucchi S., Moretti V., Remizov I. et al., / Series arXiv "math". 2020.
Feynman formulas are representations of solutions to initial value problems, for some parabolic and Schrödinger equations, by the limits of integrals over finite Cartesian powers of some spaces. Two versions of these formulas which were suggested by Feynman himself are associated with names of Trotter and Chernoff respectively. These formulas can be interpreted as approximations ...

Influence of the random walk finite step on the first-passage probability
Klimenkova O., Menshutin A., Shchur L., Journal of Physics: Conference Series 2018 Vol. 955 No. 012009 P. 1–6
A well known connection between first-passage probability of random walk and distribution of electrical potential described by Laplace equation is studied. We simulate random walk in the plane numerically as a discrete time process with fixed step length. We measure first-passage probability to touch the absorbing sphere of radius R in 2D. We found a regular deviation of the ...
