Соматические симптомы и качество жизни, связанное со здоровьем, у резидентов российского дома-интерната для престарелых и инвалидов
In order to assess somatic symptoms and health-related quality of life, 167 residents of a Russian residential home for the elderly and the disabled were examined, they filled out somatic symptom scales (Somatic Symptom Scale-8, SSS-8) and a health-related quality of life questionnaire (Three-Level EuroQol Five-Dimensional Questionnaire, EQ-5D-3L). Among the residents of the long-term care facility, 69.5% of respondents indicated clinically significant somatic symptoms, between 37.1 and 60.5% of residents noted limitations associated with physical and psychological symptoms. Women and residents over the age of 70 were more likely to report high somatization and low quality of life than male and younger residents. Study participants with individual somatic symptoms were more likely to report limitations related to physical and psychological components of quality of life. It was concluded that somatic symptoms and limitations related to the quality of life, as well as their interdependence, determine the need to develop and implement programs aimed at improving the quality of life and psychosomatic well-being of long-term care of residential homes for the elderly and the disabled.
