Эпоха многозадачности в учебном процессе, Или чем заняты студенты при выключенной веб-камере?
In the article, the authors attempt to study parallel activity in distance learning when the webcam is turned off by students. So, in July-August 2022, a study was conducted among students of Russian universities using the authors’ questionnaire, which also takes into account the demographic characteristics of the respondents (gender, course of study, subjective level of income, housing conditions). Potential respondents were invited to an online survey both through the public pages of various Russian universities and through social networks. In a nationwide sample of 455 people, it was revealed that the off-camera mode during online classes allows students to be more effective, while combining the performance of other useful duties (related to the maintenance of their everyday life: cooking, having meals, cleaning, etc.). The hidden nature of the combination (the webcam is turned off, but the audio broadcasting of online classes is turned on) is a variable manifestation of respect for the teacher on the part of students engaged in parallel useful activity. The absence of a webcam allows students to reduce the level of psycho-emotional costs, tension, and discomfort. The intrusion of the teacher and classmates into the "home space" introduces a certain stress in connection with discordant contexts and participants.
