Paul Claudel (1868-1955) and Gennadiy Aigi (1934-2006) are poets of the same era, creative milieu having contributed to the Franco-Russian cultural transfer. Both poets are known abroad due to the worldwide nature of their creativity: Aigi being a bilingual with several foreign languages at his command, Claudel pursuing a successful diplomatic career with trips to Europe, Americas and Asia. A wide worldview and individual artistic style enable them to find their readers inside other cultures.
