Internet of Things: Analysis of Parameters and Requirements
P. 01–04.
Ebraheem A., Ivanov I.
Systems of Internet of Things are relatively complex to design and maintain. Different parameters affect their performance and outcome. A four-layer architecture is used to analyze the different parameters of an IoT system. In each layer a detailed description of the important factors that have an impact on the design is presented. Guidelines for better performance are proposed.

Introduction: Caching reduces content access latency by bringing it closer to users and offloading the cloud layer of the network. Edge servers are used for this purpose, but the standard TCP/IP stack does not fully utilize caching capabilities. Therefore, it is necessary to consider a cache model using the Named Data Networking stack, which is ...

As the number of IoT devices connected to the internet increases, the amount of data explodes. This leads to a higher demand for internet speed during data transfer and more requirements for computing power and storage in central servers. To address these issues and enable real-time data processing while reducing network bandwidth utilization, edge computing ...

The paper aims at mitigating hot-spots during Offline Scheduling in IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service) cloud systems. Unlike previous studies, the research focuses on identifying and resolving hot-spots not at servers, but at server racks. A two-phase algorithm for performing power-aware offline scheduling is proposed. The first phase aims at identifying and mitigating hot-spots at racks, while the ...

Today's internet is almost wholly dependent on data originated by limited accuracy, time, and attention humans. If computers can access to accurate information about things, they would be able to count, track, and predict everything. If everything is connected to internet, the gap between our physical world and cyberspace will be reduced. Research activities are ...
