The article contains the results of a comparative analysis of the linguistic means that Russian and foreign tourists use when describing Moscow. The relevance of the research is due to the fact that the Russian capital is not only the political, economic and cultural center of our country, but also a place of attraction for people from all over the world. The reflection 26 of the results of human interaction with the city is often contained in reviews, which express the feelings, emotions and impressions of the authors. The material of the study was a sample of 340 tourist reviews about Moscow posted on popular Internet sites in Russian and English. Lexical and syntactic linguistic means of creating the image of the Russian capital were considered. The most frequent of the lexical means are metaphors and epithets, which are analyzed in the linguoculturological aspect. Sentences with homogeneous terms, antithesis, exclamation sentences and introductory words predominate among syntactic means. In addition, the "pros" and "cons" of Moscow were highlighted based on the appearance, infrastructure and attractiveness of the city assessed by tourists. The analysis made it possible to establish that a positive assessment of the Russian capital prevails in the reviews, but the image of Moscow in the minds of Russian and foreign tourists is different and is expressed through various linguistic means.
