Роль этнической идентичности и диаспорной активности в сохранении русского языка (на примере русских в Кыргызстане)
after the collapse of the USSR, many of Russians left Kyrgyzstan. Today their number is 6,2%. They need to adapt to new sociocultural conditions. In this regard, it is important to understand the factors that determine the psychological well-being of Russians. Additionally, due to the change in the socio-cultural context of Kyrgyzstan, the psychological well-being of representatives of different generations may be determined by various factors. The authors analyze the role of two factors - ethnic identity and diaspora activity in the psychological well-being of the Russians in Kyrgyzstan. The sample of the study included 300 respondents (150 - representatives of the older generation, 150 - the younger one). The results of modeling by structural equations showed that the significance of ethnic identity contributed to the involvement in all types of diaspora activity among representatives of both generations. For representatives of the older generation, psychological well-being increased if they were involved in the preservation of the Russian language and in public activities; among the younger generation, psychological wellbeing increased if they participate in creative folklore events, in activities aimed at preserving history. However, their well-being was reduced if they were involved in activities to preserve the Russian language and charity. Ethnic identity did not have a direct effect on psychological well-being; only an indirect effect was revealed through different types of diaspora activity. Among the older generation, ethnic identity promoted self-esteem through diaspora activities aimed at preserving the Russian language. For the younger generation, ethnic identity contributed to psychological well-being through diaspora activity in public activities and activities associated with participation in creative folklore events. The ethnic identity of the younger generation hindered psychological well-being when involved in activities aimed at preserving the Russian language and culture and charity
