The Usage of a Simple SchoolMIPS Soft-Processor Core for Teaching Students the Computer Microarchitecture
P. 382–387.
This paper considers the usage of a schoolMIPS soft-processor core as an infrastructure for teaching students the computer microarchitecture and hardware description languages. The paper considers in detail the microarchitecture and several implementations of the core, as well as the possibility of using it in large-scale projects, such as multiprocessor systems, and implementation schoolMIPS in a university by the example of MIEM HSE. A comparison of schoolMIPS with such cores as MIPS, MIPSfpga, and RISC-V is given.
