ЛИЧНОСТНЫЕ ИЗМЕНЕНИЯ: НОВЫЕ ПОДХОДЫ И ПЕРСПЕКТИВЫ
Personality psychology was traditionally focused on the problem of its consistency, but in our days the issue of personality changes is coming to the fore. The idea that personality can and does change has been around for decades, but there are not many empirical studies that would that study this process. Recently, researchers have suggested that besides external factors such as social roles, life circumstances, interpersonal relationships, a goal of changing their personality can become a powerful predictor of personality changes, which subsequently influences the formation of new cognitive, affective, and behavioral patterns acting long enough to change the personality trait. However, mistakes in the perception traits change may lead people to ineffective strategies for achieving a goal and undermine this goal - with potential decrease in subjective well-being. Subjective well-being results from multiple changes. Research shows that people who are not satisfied with certain aspects of their lives, or even life at large, are more likely to strive to change their personal qualities. The role of goal-setting in the process of personality change is revealed, as well as the relationship between subjective well-being and personality change, which opens up new perspectives in this area of research.
