Legal expertise is a special kind of intellectual activity in law. Legal expertise is characterized by the following features: regulation by law; special subject – an expert authorized by the state; independence of the expert in the examination; formal certainty of the conclusion of the legal expertise, the scope of which is determined in the request for its conduct (questions to the expert); the form of submission of the results of the examination defined by law – the conclusion; personal responsibility of the expert for the result of the examination. Despite the presence of these features, legal expertise has much in common with other types of intellectual activity in law - audit, valuation and analytical activities. The task of legal expertise in lawmaking is to ensure a high scientific level of law-making decisions.
