Характеристика экономического поведения коренных малочисленных народов Севера: результаты качественного исследования аборигенов Камчатки
The article presents the results of a qualitative study of the features of economic behavior and consciousness of the indigenous peoples of Kamchatka. A total of 20 interviews were conducted with representatives of indigenous minorities (Evens, Koryaks) aged 23 to 62 years. During the interview, such features of the economic consciousness of the indigenous peoples of the North were revealed as a certain naivety in the perception of socio-economic relations, inability to defend their positions in competition, low value of money in itself, refusal to acquire more than is necessary for their needs or to the detriment of nature, willingness to share material values, mutual assistance. In the minds of indigenous peoples, wealth, commercialization is neither a value nor a goal, which is more likely to serve as a barrier to adaptation to the conditions of a market economy. The data obtained are consistent with the results of previous studies. In the course of the interview, the peculiarities of consciousness and self-awareness of the indigenous peoples of the North, including the economic one, were also revealed. In particular, there is a certain naivety in the perception of socio-economic relations, the inability to defend their positions in the competition. In addition, such features of the economic consciousness of small indigenous peoples have been identified, such as the low value of money in itself, refusal to acquire more than is necessary for their needs, or to the detriment of nature, willingness to share material values, mutual assistance.
