Proceedings of the 14th International Joint Conference on Knowledge Discovery, Knowledge Engineering and Knowledge Management - (Volume 2) KEOD
This volume contains the proceedings of the 14th International Conference on Knowledge Engineering and Ontology Development (KEOD 2022) which is part of the 14th International Joint Conference on Knowledge Discovery, Knowledge Engineering and Knowledge Management (IC3K 2022). IC3K was sponsored by the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication (INSTICC), and held in cooperation with the ACM Special Interest Group on Artificial Intelligence. This year IC3K was held in Valletta, Malta, from 24 - 26 October. The main objective of IC3K is to provide a point of contact for scientists, engineers and practitioners interested in the areas of Knowledge Discovery, Knowledge Engineering and Knowledge Management. IC3K is composed of three co-located complementary conferences, each specialized in one of the aforementioned main knowledge areas. Namely: - International Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Information Retrieval (KDIR) - International Conference on Knowledge Engineering and Ontology Development (KEOD) - International Conference on Knowledge Management and Information Systems (KMIS) The International Conference on Knowledge Engineering and Ontology Development (KEOD) provides a point of contact for scientists, engineers and practitioners interested in the scientific and technical advancement of methodologies and technologies for Knowledge Engineering and Ontology Development both theoretically and in a broad range of application fields. The joint conference, IC3K received 127 paper submissions from 39 countries in all continents, of which 23% were accepted as full papers. The high quality of the papers received imposed difficult choices in the review process. To evaluate each submission, a double blind paper review was performed by the Program Committee, whose members are highly qualified independent researchers in the three IC3K Conferences topic areas. KEOD 2022 received 39 paper submissions from 17 countries in all continents, of which 21% were presented as full papers. The conference also featured 3 keynote lectures delivered by internationally well-known experts, namely Giancarlo Guizzardi (Free University of Bolzano-Bozen, Italy and University of Twente, Netherlands), Catholijn Jonker (Delft University of Technology, Netherlands), and Rudolf Kruse (Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg Germany), and 1 industrial invited lecture from Bart Verheijen (GuruScan, Netherlands), thus contributing to increase the overall quality of the conferences and to provide a deeper understanding of the conferences interest fields. As in previous editions of the conference, based on the reviewers’ evaluations and on the presentations, selected authors will be invited to submit extended versions of their papers for a book, which will be published by Springer with the best papers of IC3K 2022. A short list of best papers will also be invited for a post-conference special issue of the Springer Nature Computer Science Journal. All presented papers will be submitted for indexation by Scopus, Google Scholar, DBLP, Semantic Scholar, Microsoft Academic, EI (Elsevier Engineering Village Index) and Web of Science / Conference Proceedings Citation Index as well as being made available at the SCITEPRESS Digital Library. We sincerely thank all the authors for their submissions and participation in IC3K 2022. Furthermore, we are grateful to all the members of the program committee and reviewers, who helped us with their expertise, dedication and time. We would also like to thank the invited speakers for their excellent contribution in sharing their knowledge and vision. Finally, we acknowledge the professional support of the INSTICC team for all organizational processes. We hope that all colleagues who participated in the conference and/or read its proceedings, find this a fruitful and inspiring conference.
