The introductory article of the issue explains the logic of structuring materials around the topic of local studies as a way of development of true patriotism – emotional and active involvement in one’s homeland, where he or she was born. The Kraefest festival became the core event of 2021, which has set new development paths for local history associations of school students. The article illustrates the reason of such a considerable attention given to the event in this issue and how it correlates with materials on the history of school local studies and descriptions of other practices in this field of active education.
