Реакция советских людей на поездки Н.С. Хрущева по СССР (конец 1950-х – начало 1960-х гг.)
The article analyses opinions, attitudes and emotions of Soviet citizens about N. S. Khrushchev’s trips around the country in late 1950s and early 1960s. Referring to the analyses of the press, newsreel, diaries and letters to Khrushchev, the author attempts to identify the correlation between official leader’s image and its reception in society. Mass-media constructed specific rules for the emotional perception of Khrushchev’s trips. However, people's real perception of power attitudes was different. One part of citizens completely obeyed the standard that was imposed on them by the authorities. Another part of people expressed critical disagreement with the information that was provided to them. Nevertheless, the practice of the Soviet leader's trips outside the Moscow region simultaneously with the admission of criticism against him indicates the expansion of the boundaries of what is permissible both in relation to actions by the authorities and in relation to their assessments by the population.
