The textbook covers all the main issues of private international law: the subject and system, sources, the operation of conflict rules, the legal status of individuals and legal entities, foreign state, real rights, intellectual rights, contractual and non-contractual obligations, issues of succession, family and labor law. In detail, current issues of the international civil process, including international commercial arbitration, are discussed, and problems of cross-border insolvency (bankruptcy) are investigated.
The fourth, substantially revised and enlarged edition of the textbook was prepared on the basis of the analysis of Russian legislation, taking into account the reform of section VI of Part Three of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation in 2013, changes in the field of arbitration in 2015, jurisdictional immunities of foreign states of 2015, as well as other changes in law as of June 1, 2018, law enforcement practice (including the latest resolutions of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation), international treaties of the Russian Federation (including those to which Russia joined recently) and other international instruments, the new foreign legislation, the scientific doctrine.
The material is based on current trends in the development of private international law and in accordance with the accepted curriculum of this discipline in higher education institutions.
