A Novel Payoff Distribution Procedure for Sustainable Cooperation in an Extensive Game with Payoffs at All Nodes
Ch. 20. P. 279–294.
Kuzyutin D., Smirnova N.
This paper is a contribution to the problem of sustainable cooperation in an extensive-form game. We study an extension of the subgame-perfect core concept to more broad class of games (when the payoffs are defined at all nodes) which is based on the payoff distribution procedure approach. The properties of this β-S-P Core are studied and algorithm of its implementation in a 2-player game is provided. Using this algorithm we construct specific payoff distribution procedure from the β-S-P Core in an extensive-form version of the fishery-management model with asymmetric players.

The paper examines an infinite-horizon multistage game of renewable resource extraction with two types of players, differing in the discount rates of future payoffs. Using the dynamic programming method, a non-cooperative solution - a subgame perfect Nash equilibrium in stationary positional strategies, as well as a cooperative (Paretooptimal) solution for the case of complete cooperation ...

Migration is one of the key processes that shape the age and sex structure of a population. Intraregional migration, which accounted for 39% of migration turnover in Russia in 2016 - 2020 and follows the centripetal trend, has a significant impact on the population of many territories. The study of sex disparities in migration deepens ...

Covid19 has become that extralinguistic factor leading to the emergence of new lexical units and expansion of the meaning of the old ones. Moreover, coronovirus is a phenomenon that has recently been familiar to a circle of narrow specialists but is now rethought and transformed into a culturally significant concept becoming a semantically structural entity, ...

We study a multi-objective finite-horizon game model of renewable, common resource extraction where the players have two separate objectives (one is economic success; the other describes the players’ environmental concern). We derive the cooperative strategy and the subgame-perfect Pareto equilibrium in linear-state non-stationary feedback strategies by employing the dynamic programming approach. Since the utility is ...

A dynamic multicriteria game of renewable resource extraction with environmentally concerned players
Kuzyutin D., Smirnova N., Economics Letters 2023 Vol. 226 Article 111078
We introduce a multi-objective discrete-time competitive model of renewable resource extraction in which the standard economic objective is supplemented with an environmental one. Non-cooperative and cooperative solutions in feedback strategies are derived and compared with the solutions established for a standard single-criterion dynamic game. ...

The march of events which have been unfolding in the last three decades in Northern Eurasia requires clarification and extension of the terminology used in the empire studies, and first of all, the supplement of the wide-spread “center-periphery” model with a third, intermediate element – the notion of “core”. The “core”, in contrast to the ...

To enforce the long-term cooperation in a multistage multicriteria game we use the imputation distribution procedure (IDP) based approach. We mainly focus on such useful properties of the IDP like “reward immediately after the move” assumption, time consistency inequality, efficiency and non-negativity constraint. To overcome the problem of negative payments along the optimal cooperative trajectory ...

In everyday economic interactions, it is not clear whether each agent’s sequential choices are visible to other participants or not: agents might be deluded about others’ ability to acquire, interpret or keep track of data. Following this idea, this paper introduces uncertainty about players’ ability to observe each others’ past choices in extensive-form games. In ...

We deal with multistage multicriteria games in extensive form and employ so-called “A-subgame” concept to examine dynamical properties of some non-cooperative and cooperative solutions. It is proved that if we take into account only the active players at each A-subgame the set of all strong Pareto equilibria is time consistent but does not satisfy dynamical ...
