Towards multipixel THz Schottky diode detector with a single RF output line
Journal of Physics: Conference Series. 2021. Vol. 2086. No. 1. Article 012063.
We propose the design of a dual-pixel array of Schottky diodes. Each diode is fixed between the bow-tie antenna arms on top of a SI-GaAs membrane acting as a waveguide backshort for efficient coupling of the antenna to the feedline of high-directivity horn. The detector utilizes a single RF output line: microwave reflectometer is used for the readout. The pixels are equipped with dual-mode resonator filters to eliminate the cross-talk. We evaluate the design proposed via numerical simulation and performance tests of the array subunits: NEP of 300 pW/Hz0.5 and dynamic range of 24 dB are demonstrated at 137.5 GHz.

terahertz radiation. The two types of the PSD devices were compared having
either the dual n/n+ silicon dopant profle or the triple one with a moderately
doped matching sublayer inserted. All the diodes ...

We report on helicity sensitive photovoltaic terahertz radiation response of a carbon nanotube made in a configuration of a field-effect transistor. We find that the magnitude of the rectified voltage is different for clockwise and anticlockwise circularly polarized radiation. We demonstrate that this effect is a fingerprint of the plasma waves interference in the transistor ...

We propose and develop a classical density functional theory for the description of a minor amount of water dissolved in ionic liquid in the vicinity of an electrode. In addition to the electrostatic energy and lattice-gas mixing entropy terms, the utilised grand canonical potential contains several phenomenological terms/parameters that describe short-range interactions between ions of ...

Volt-ampere characteristics of narrow superconducting titanum wires have been studied experimentally. The narrowest specimens measured by means of high-resistance contacts have revealed a behavior nontrivial for superconductors: the Coulomb blockade. The Coulomb gap size correlates with the frequency of quantum phase slips. The observation confirms the identity of quantum dynamics of charge in the Josephson ...

Detectors of terahertz radiation based on field-effect transistors (FETs) are among the most promising candidates for low-noise passive signal rectification both in imaging systems and wireless communications. However, it was not realized so far that geometric asymmetry of common FETs with respect to source-drain interchange is a strong objective to photovoltage harvesting. Here, we break ...

Quantum communication protocols are considered secure provided that all devices included in the system are fully characterized, and side channels are closed. We propose a superconducting spin valve based on a Josephson junction with B20-family
magnetic metal as a barrier material. Our analysis shows that the states of this element can be
switched by reorienting the intrinsic non-collinear magnetization of the spiral magnet. This
reorientation modifies long-range spin-triplet correlations and thereby strongly influences the
critical Josephson current. Compared to superconducting spin ...

A detailed investigation of a superconducting spin-triplet valve is presented. This spin valve consists of a superconducting film covering a metal with an intrinsic spiral magnetic order, which could result from competing isotropic exchanges or, if the crystal lattice breaks central symmetry, from asymmetric Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya exchange. Depending on the anisotropy, such a metal may change ...
