Метод оценки перспективных технологий спутниковой и наземной сетей связи для железных дорог
The paper estimates the possible characteristics of potential successors of the GSM-R railway communication network at the stage of coverage growth. Communication in such networks can be provided by the installation of Terrestrial Base Stations and/or Mobile Satellite Communication Terminals on trains. The score of the performance increasing by using inter-train communication and, thereby, creating a mesh network and DTN is also analyzed.
The proposed method for evaluating and comparing the efficiency of networks is based on the analysis of the railway schedule, which is close to the real one, and can be applied to any existing schedule. Such an assessment can serve as a preliminary basis for the technical and commercial choice of the communication configuration in the projected 4G and 5G networks and for assessing the feasibility of the required QoS.
