The article examines curiosity as a prerequisite for cognitive initiative based on the analysis of autobiographical memories of their childhood by young people. Memories of children’s own curiosity, its support or punishment are taken as a special source of information about the personality’s past, which remains significant in the present and determines a lot in the future, in life strategies of behavior.
