The monograph provides an empirical description of the structure of the Russian provincial society at the local level. On the basis of phenomenological criteria, a typology of local societies was carried out. The social structure is described in terms of the territorial, socio-economic, socio-professional, kin-neighbourly, status and local socio-political structure of each of the established types of local societies. The presented results are based on the author’s field research and cover the period from the 1980s to the 2020s.
The book is addressed to sociologists, economists, political scientists. It can be used as an additional source when teaching students of higher educational institutions in the specialties "sociology", "political science", "economics", "state and municipal administration".
