2-в-1: две посессивные конструкции в одной парадигме севернохантыйских суффиксов
С. 106–117.
This paper argues that there are at least two adnominal possessive contructions in the Kazym dialect of Northern Khanty, both of which are exponed by the same set of suffixes. The arguments for this view include the (un)availability of explicit possessor mention, the presence of a uniqueness requirement, and the availability of context-dependent associative possessive interpretations as opposed to proper possessive ones, based in the notion of ownership and derived from the semantics of the given NP. The observed possessive system is typologically unusual, although we expect that similar systems can be shown to exist in neighboring and related languages with extended associative possessive marking.

The study focuses on a previously unrecorded model of split agreement in the mirative paradigm in Kazym Khanty. Split agreement is found when comparing active and passive mirative constructions, as well as
in a limited set of uses of non-finite forms. In the passive voice, unlike the active voice, the 3rd person is unmarked and the ...

In modern civil law, two views coexist regarding the meaning and nature of person’s
identity. On the one hand, with the recognition of human value (not economic), many
legal systems have entrenched a view of the special nature of person’s identity, it’s
inalienability, and close connection to the individual. So, the idea of the use of person’s
identity for ...

n this article, we have proposed to differentiate textual and lexical metaphtonymy as different phenomena. We have considered the phenomenon of metaphtonymy at the level of text, a chain of words the length of a sentence, a phrase, and a separate meaning. We propose to reserve the term “metaphtonymy” for cases when we are talking ...

In this paper, we present new challenging data from Kazym Khanty (a Uralic language spoken in Western Siberia, Russia): in this articleless language, bare singular and bare dual NPs in argument positions can receive indefinite readings on par with definite ones, contradicting the predictions of the classic neo-Carlsonian approach (Chierchia, 1998; Dayal, 2004). We argue ...
