It has become a commonplace in historiography to refer to the juridical and cultural work of the king Alfonso X as part of his political project. One of the instruments used by the King was the creation of an ideal image of society. In the article we emphasize the importance of using the “Songs of Holy Mary” to complete the information received from juridical sources about this ideal image.
