The article deals with the topical socio-philosophical problem of the implementation of personal spiritual autonomy in post-Soviet society. The study draws analogies between the European and Russian models of modernization process, which allow to focus on the formation of principles of positive freedom as a prerequisite for the rule of law, civil society and innovative economy. Particular attention is paid to the problem of transformation of traditional values of the Russians in the conditions of modern information and technological revolution.
