The purpose of this article is to summarize the results of the most significant research results carried out within the framework of the theory of self-determination, to study organizational behavior and develop possible programs for studying organizational behavior to increase its effectiveness.
The general model of the organization of research within the framework of the theory assumes the study, as independent variables, of the personality traits of an employee and the characteristics of his workplace and working conditions. As mediators in research, basic psychological needs and characteristics of employee motivation are considered. The resulting variables are expressed in the quantity, quality and efficiency of the work performed, as well as in the characteristics of well-being, job satisfaction and the absence of morbidity.
Self-determination theory is a new and promising area of research and practical action in the study of organizational behavior.
