The article is the historical and psychological investigation of representations on giftedness, which are peculiar to teachers of a Soviet province in the early 50s of XX century. On the basis of the analysis of historical document – the “Lectures on psychology” text – and its comparison with modern to it sources and with modern scientific literature, reconstruction of given representations was carried out. Representations on giftedness of Soviet province teachers in the early 50s of XX century reflected scientific achievements of domestic psychology combined with the actual content of public consciousness of Soviet Russia. The article gives entertaining traits to the picture of domestic psychological science development in the middle of XX century.
