The needs for psychological research and psychological support for various activities in the pandemic COVID–19 can be considered as the period of the "third coming" of psychological science into the space of social discourse. Following the heyday of the first third of the 20th century and the increased attention of 1960-70, psychology again declares itself as a socially significant science that meets the most pressing and global needs of mankind. Prospects of psychological science holding the status of collective coping instrument in conditions of global challenge are analyzed.
