HSE Researchers Discover Who Eats Out in Russia-And Why
Around one-third of Russians (31.3%) rarely eat out or buy ready-made meals. The core group of active consumers—those who eat out or purchase prepared food almost every day or several times a week—accounts for only about 9% of the population. These are the findings of a study conducted by the HSE Institute for Social Policy. According to the researchers eating out is no longer a marker of high social status in Russia.

2020 43rd International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP)

IEEE, 2020.
Editor-in-chief: N. HERENCSAR

2020 43rd International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP), IEEE Conference Record #49548, which is held during July 7-9, 2020, in Milan, Italy (virtual event), we would like to welcome you in this event and thank you for your personal support and for your papers, which are published in the proceeding. In this respect, we would congratulate you for your success since every paper has been carefully reviewed by at least two international referees. In cooperation with the Technical Co-Sponsors, IEEE Region 8 (Europe, Middle East and Africa), IEEE Italy Section, Italy Section SP Chapter, Italy Section VT/COM Joint Chapter, IEEE Czechoslovakia Section, IEEE Czechoslovakia Section SP/CAS/COM Joint Chapter, Scientific Association for Infocommunications, a Sister Society of the IEEE and the IEEE Communications Society, Media Partners, Applied Sciences, Remote Sensing, and Sensors - open access journals by MDPI, International Journal of Advances in Telecommunications, Electrotechnics, Signals and Systems (IJATES2 ), the TSP 2020 is organized by eighteen universities from Czech Republic, Hungary, Turkey, Croatia, Taiwan, Japan, Slovak Republic, Spain, Bulgaria, France, Romania, Slovenia, Greece, and Poland, for academics, researchers, and developers and it serves as a premier annual international forum to promote the exchange of the latest advances in telecommunication technology and signal processing. The aim of the conference is to bring together novice and experienced scientists, developers, and specialists, to meet new colleagues, collect new ideas, and establish new cooperation between research groups from universities, research centers, and private sectors. The TSP Conference goes back to 1977, when it was the first time initially organized by enthusiasts from the Department of Telecommunications of Brno University of Technology as a national meeting held in Brno. Because of the success of the first event it was also repeated in 1978 and this annual repetition of the conference became a tradition. In the 1980s, TSP was transformed into an international conference and was opened also to participants from around the word. In the 1990s, during the years of economic transformation in the Czech Republic, TSP extended its base of supporters also by commercial entities active in different fields of telecommunications. In 2008, in cooperation with BME Hungary, the TSP Conference was first time organized abroad. To extend the cooperation between European Universities, in 2011 the organizing committee was joined by other six universities i.e. CTU Czech Republic, KTU Turkey, STU Slovak Republic, UL Slovenia, VSB Czech Republic, ZUT Poland, which was since 2015 extended worldwide by Seikei University in Japan, TU-Sofia Bulgaria, University of Osijek in Croatia, Isik University Turkey, ITU Turkey, NTUST Taiwan, Tecnocampus Spain, and Université Paris 8 in France, etc. During the 43rd edition of TSP we are grateful for their contributions and support.

Makarov I., Daniil Chernyshev, , in: 2020 43rd International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP).: IEEE, 2020. P. 133–138.
Recent developments in the apparel market created new tasks for computer vision application. One such challenge is designing a system for trying on clothes virtually in real-time. Proposed solutions require setting up a special stationary system for body capture and mostly generate animated avatar instead of overlaying the garments in real-time. We propose a framework ...

Statistical inference based on band-limited kernels: Rational-infinitely divisible distributions and beyond
Panov V., Ryabchenko A., / Series arXiv "stat.ME". 2026. No. 2607.05048.
This paper investigates the problem of statistical inference for a mixture distribution consisting of a discrete and a continuous component, with a particular focus on the class of rational-infinitely divisible distributions. We consider non-parametric estimation of both components of the mixture as well as the quasi-L{é}vy measure, assuming that the mixture belongs to the class ...

Growth in noncommutative algebras and entropy in derived categories
Piontkovski D., / Series arXiv "math". 2026.
A noncommutative projective variety is defined, following Artin and Zhang, by a graded coherent algebra 𝐴. The category of coherent sheaves is then the quotient qgr(𝐴) of the category of finitely presented graded modules by the subcategory of torsion modules. We consider the categorical and polynomial entropies of the Serre twist, that is, of the ...

Multilinear nilalgebras and the Jacobian theorem
Piontkovski D., / Series arXiv "math". 2025.
If a symmetric multilinear algebra is weakly nil, then it is Engel. This result may be regarded as an infinite-dimensional analogue of the well-known Jacobian theorem, which states that if a polynomial mapping has a polynomial inverse, then its Jacobian matrix is invertible. This refines a theorem of Gerstenhaber and partially answers a question posed ...

Strong Approximations for Markov Chains Weakly Converging to Diffusions
Konakov V., Kucher D., Mammen E., / Series arXiv "math". 2026. No. 2606.11142v1.
In this paper, we construct strong approximations for discrete-time Markov chains weakly converging to continuous diffusion processes, as well as for their perturbed counterparts. Under the assumption of bounded coefficients, we construct closely coupled versions of these processes on a shared probability space. In particular, for both non-degenerate and degenerate cases, we maximize the probability ...
